Using Swish with a WestPay terminal

This article explains how to use Swish on a WestPay terminal.

What is Swish - Swipe2Pay

Swipe2Pay is the solution provided by WestPay to make payments with Swish available on the WestPay terminals. This functionality exists on all Westpay terminal models and in all modes (EPAS, P@T & HandyPay).

How to use it?

Requirements

  • The terminal must have the PA version 2.0.11.4 or later.
  • A Swish trade ("Handels") agreement with WestPay as the technical provider.

Activating Swish on terminals

When a Swish Trade Agreement with WestPay as a technical provider has been set up by the restaurant via the bank, an Email can be sent to Trivec Sales (inhousesales@trivec.se).

The information in the mail sent to Trivec needs to contain the following information:

  • Customer Swish Trade Agreement number (Swish Handelsavtalets swish nummer).
  • The specific bank the restaurant uses.
  • The organization number of the restaurant.
  • Serial number/Terminal ID of the terminals that should have Swish activated.
  • A contact number for sales/support to contact the Customer after setup so a host logon can be made.

It is possible to have the Swipe2Pay activated on all, or on specific terminals only.

Making a payment

When the guest has entered the total amount to pay, swipe arrows and options 1 and 2 are displayed.
By swiping the screen or pressing the options, the guest is taken to the Swish mode.

Access portal reports

Westpay lists all Swish transactions on the Access portal since week 43, year 2023,

Swish transactions can be easily filtered in the transactions list with Entry Method filtering on QR code.

For more information on how to access the portal, check out WestPay Access Web Portal.

Domino reports

Domino creates a Swish Epay payment method when Swish is used for the first time. It is possible to create a payment OLAP report with Swish specified, when the Swish paymode have been moved to a correct paymode group.

For more information on how to use OLAP reports in Domino, check out Working with Olap.

Payouts

Payouts for Swish transactions take place directly after the transaction is completed and are completely disconnected from the card payment. Customer signs the Swish agreement with their home bank and the transaction is directly linked to their bank account. There is no EOD (End of Day) timing for Swish transactions.

Swap / Terminal replacement

The Swish functionality is linked to the Terminal ID, so replacement and swap are handled the same way as a terminal without Swish functionality.

Keep in mind

It will not be possible to use Swish in a WestPay terminal if WestPay has an central internal error, if a cardsupplier or a redeeming bank has an issue swish should still be operational, but however in this case swish might not be working properly for the end user.
