PT6500 Windows 10 upgrade package

This guide explains the process of upgrading PT6500 from Windows 7 to Windows 10. This guide applies to Trivec Nordics.

Order an upgrade package

An email is sent to all customers using Windows 7 machines and PT6500 POS hardware.

  • Reply to the email by entering the information in the form with the number of machines running Windows 7 that you would like to upgrade.
  • After receiving the order, one replacement disk and one license sticker per each device will be sent to your address, along with a USB drive.
  • After shipping, an email will be sent to you informing you to book an upgrade session when you have received the shipment.

Perform the upgrade

When the time arrives for the booked session, you will be contacted by the Trivec representative using the phone number you specified when booking the upgrade session.

NOTE: Do not replace the disk yourself. Instead, wait for the agreed time to do it under the Trivec representative guidance. Otherwise, you will lose data.

The replacement process is done in the following steps for each device:

  • Trivec representative logs in via Teamviewer to the device, backs up data to USB drive, and shuts down the device.
  • You replace the disk following the disk replacement guide.
  • You apply the license sticker to the POS device on this place:

  • You start the POS device again and Trivec representative finishes the the device configuration.

You do not have to re-register the device at Skatteverket.
