This article explains how to use the BTP-M300 impact printer.
Getting started
Turning the printer on/off
- To turn the printer on/off, use the power switch:
- BTP-M300 has a green LED on the device that is on when device is turned on:
Feeding the paper
- To feed the paper, press and hold the Feed button:
Paper type
BTP-M300 uses a standard impact printer paper. Paper width is 76 mm. NOTE: Paper type is not the same as the one used for thermo printers, such as ODP333, BTP-R880NP or BTP-S80.
Replacing the paper
- To replace the paper, open the back lid using the knob that releases the lid:
- With the back lid open, insert the paper roll, making sure it's oriented correctly:
- Close the lid by pressing down on it.
Replacing the ink ribbon
- Open the back lid using the knob that releases the lid.
- Open the front lid by pulling on it upwards:
- Remove the ink ribbon case by pulling it out upwards:
- Insert the new ribbon case the same way, making sure the ribbon is placed correctly. If needed, use the screw the tighten the ribbon:
- Close the front lid, and then close the rear lid.
Managing BTP-M300
Types of cables
- Ethernet cable:
- When connected to network, the green and yellow LEDs on the Ethernet interface will be on/blinking:
- Serial (COM, RS232) cable:
- USB is not used with BTP-M300.
Power supply unit (PSU)
- PSU is hidden under a lid on the printer's underside. To remove it, slide it toward the printers rear:

Printing a test page
Printing a test page is a test to make sure the printer is mechanically operational and can print at all. In case test print works, next step to troubleshoot is connectivity.
- Turn the printer off by switching the Power button to 0:
- Hold the Feed button (the upper one) and at the same time turn the printer on by switching the Power button to I:
- Release the Feed button when the test page starts printing.
