This article explains how to use VariPOS 850 devices.
Getting started
Turning on the device
Power button for the device can be found to the right behind the lower right corner of the screen:
- VariPOS 850 has no LED light, so there is no way of telling if it's operational or not:

Connecting a mouse or keyboard
- To connect a USB device, the back lid needs to be removed first. For info on that, check out: Troubleshoting VariPOS 850.
- With the back lid removed, use any of the available USB ports:
Types of cables
There are several types of cables used with VariPOS 850. All cables are guided through the foot stand:
- 3 COM cables (sometimes labeled as COM1, COM2 and COM3):
- Ethernet cable:
- Power Supply Unit (PSU):
- PSU has no LED light, so there is no way of telling if it's operational or not:
Connecting a card reader
Connecting a card reader to VariPOS 850 is too complex to be performed by our customers. Please contact Support to book a technician that will perform the card reader installation.
