Troubleshoting PT6500

This article explains how to troubleshoot Yuno POS devices.

Disconnecting the blackbox (Sweden)

  • In case blackbox needs to be disconnected, locate the blackbox device and the USB it is connected to and plug it out.
  • For more info on how to identify blackbox devices, check out Blackbox: Sweden (skattebox).
  • If you are disconnecting the blackbox for blackbox troubleshooting purposes, wait a few seconds and connect it again.

Enabling DHCP

If device has lost connectivity to local network but the network interface LED is on/blinking, it is a good idea to try to enable DHCP on device. For info on how, check out Enabling DHCP on VPOS.

Replacing a disk

Replacing a disk on a PT6500 device is a fairly straightforward process that requires only basic skill with a screwdriver. You will need a small-diameter Phillips screwdriver. Make sure the device is shut down and unpowered.

  • Locate the disk cover on the back side of the device and remove the two screws holding it in place:

  • Remove the two screws holding the disk cradle in place:

  • With the screws removed, slide the disk cradle to the right:

  • Now the disk cradle can be removed from the device:

  • Remove the four screws that secure the disk to the cradle:

  • Replace the disk, making sure the new one is aligned the same way as the old one, and put everything back in place:

Replacing RAM

  • Make sure the device is unpowered. To be sure, disconnect the device from the power plug.
  • Place the device with the screen facing downwards, and remove the four screws that hold the back cover in place:

  • Carefully flip the device cover upwards, keeping the upper part of the cover and screen close together. This can be only done in one direction, so do it slowly to avoid pulling out display cables in case you happen to flip it up in the wrong direction.
  • With the motherboard exposed, locate the RAM slot:

  • Release RAM by twisting the arms holding it in outwards direction:

  • RAM is released when it pops outwards from its socket. Remove it by gently pulling on it in the direction that RAM is pointing to:

  • With the old RAM removed, gently slide the new RAM all the way in and press it down until it clicks and the arms hold it securely.

Mounting PT6500 on a VESA adapter

  • To expose the VESA screw points, remove the foot stand by removing the 4 screws that hold it in place:

Reseting BIOS settings

  • Shut down the device and connect an external keyboard to it.
  • Start the device by pressing the power button and press Delete on keyboard in rapid succession.
  • Using the keyboard arrow keys, navigate to SCU and confirm with Enter:

  • Using the keyboard arrow keys (right), navigate to Exit page, select Load Defaults and confirm with Enter and Enter again:

  • Select Exit Saving Changes, confirm with Enter and Enter again:

  • The device will now restart.
