Info
BDS is short for "Bar Display System", a bar ticket display system that substitutes bar printers.
Bar display works similar to the KDS (Kitchen Display System), except that it is somewhat simplified to adapt it better for bar workflows.
Instead of using paper tickets, all bar tickets are displayed on a screen, giving the staff a better overview of orders and their status. Since displays are interactive, staff can close an order by tapping on the touchscreen. This change is then reflected on other bar displays (if several are used). This greatly improves communication between stations and reduces the chance of misunderstandings and missed orders. It also enables the bar staff to plan their work more efficiently.
It is possible to configure the BDS system to work with printers so that a paper ticket (with order and table number) is printed when order is complete.
