This guide explains the purpose of the Mail module in Backoffice: Reports.
Mail module's task is to automate generation and distribution of Olap reports to email adresses. Alternatively, reports can be exported to disk.
Managing scheduled emails/exports
Reviewing schedule
Scheduled emails are displayed in the Push window:
Creating new email/exports
- To schedule a new email/export, select Add:
- Following fields can be configured:
- Type: Mail - email sent to targets (separate by comma), LocalCopy - exports report to disk.
- Target: Email addresses (if using Type: email) or path on disk (if using Type: LocalCopy).
- Subject: Subject of email sent.
- Send time: Time when the email will be sent / export performed.
- Send on Close: Enables email to be sent during the dump. This setting overrides
- CreateSubDir: Creates subdirectory for each LocalCopy export.
- Days: Schedules email to chosen day in a week. Leave empty to schedule to every day.
- Dates: Schedules email to days in a month, e.g. 1
- Months: Schedule email to months. Leave empty to schedule to every month.
For example, email sent every 1st of June, July, and August at 7 AM would look like this:
Another example could be email sent every morning during dump:
- To override the schedule and send an email straight away, select Send Now:
Editing existing emails/exports
- To edit the existing emails, select Edit:

Removing emails/exports
Emails/exports are removed in the same way as products. For more info check out Products: Managing products.
Managing content
Reviewing content
Content assigned to scheduled emails is displayed in the Push content window:
Select an email/export to update the content view:
- Each row in the Content window represents is a report that is calculated and is sent with an email/exported to disk.
Adding reports to Content
- To add the report to the content, it first needs to be calculated in the Mail screen. To do that, select the dates and select the report template. If you want, you can select Calculate to preview the report (for more info on calculating Olap reports, check out Reports: Working with Olap):
- Now select the email/export, then select Add Report to add the report to the Content:
- A new report has been added to the email/export content:
Modifying reports in Content
- To modify the report added to Content, select the report and then select Edit:
- Edit menu is displayed:
- Following settings can be configured:
- Name: What's displayed on the Content list
- PushFormat: Default - sent in pdf, .xlsx and .html format, PDF - sent in .pdf format, Excel - sent in .xlsx format, CSV - sent in .csv format.
- From: First day of report, represented by number of days back (the date when report is created is 0, yesterday -1 and so on). This value is generated by your choice on the calendar when adding the report to Content.
- To: Last day of report, represented by number days back (the date when report is created is 0, yesterday -1 and so on). This value is generated by your choice on the calendar when adding the report to Content.
- Landscape: Enabling this changes the report page orientation to Landscape (default is Profile).
- ReportPeriod: Overrides From/To values configured above with standard periods such as This week, Last week etc.:

- User: Enables filtering by user
- Center: Enables filtering by center
Removing reports from Content
Reports are removed from Content in the same way as products. For more info check out Managing products.
