Product types that exist in Domino are:
- Sales Product - the standard product used in Domino, represents a single equivalent physical object, for example, an espresso.
- Cash in Product - Is used to deposit funds into the register, it can be used for "cash to be used later" or for example balancing credit (VIP accounts). (not shown as revenue in standard sales reports)
- Cash Out Product - Can be used to balance "Cash in" and decrease the cash in the register. (not shown as revenue in standard sales reports)
- Combo Product - One product that contains 2 or more sub-products, revenue is divided among the subproducts depending on how large part of the total "normal price" the sub-products represent individually.
- Discount Product - Is negative "Sales Product" if first added to the order the "normal products" will increase the order value towards 0. (Not used in SWE)
- Ex Sales Product - A product that adds no revenue to the general sales in the Register. it can be used for example "Hotel Tip".
- Message Product - Most often used to inform Bartenders and Chefs about allergies, frying orders, or any other information that needs to be added quickly to an order.
- PAX Product -
- Menu Product - A product that automatically adds several dishes and courses, either by predefined conditions or by the staff selecting the options when adding the product to the order.
New product settings
When creating new products, the following settings can be configured:
- Sales Product
- ProdNr - a (should be a unique) identification number for the product, more important when integrating to other systems.
- Name - name of the product, displayed in reports
- ShortName - a the name shown on the button in Sales mode (if empty "Name" will be shown)
- Price - the "normal" price of the product
- Description - Short description shown under product name in "Buddy"
- Product info - More detailed info than "Description" can be for example ingredients or allergens.
- AskPrice - enables or disables the prompt to enter the price when selecting a product in Sales mode (used when product price varies, e.g. daily catch)
- AskQty - enables or disables the prompt to enter the quantity when selecting a product in Sales mode how many of the specific product? If I press the product "lunch" and AskQty is active, select 100units and press "ok" 100 x lunch will be added as a order-row.
- AllowDiscount - enabling this setting allows discounts to be applied to the product
- AskMemo - enables the prompt to enter a memo/note (that will be displayed on the prep ticket) when selecting a product in Sales mode
- AskUnit - enables or disables the prompt to enter the number of a measuring unit, for example "6" centiliters of Whiskey (how many in the unit?). Not to be mistaken for "AskQty" is how many units.
- AskCourse - enables or disables the prompt to select course when selecting a product in Sales mode.
- Tara - used for weighed products to compensate for package weight.
- ShowInSearch - enabling this setting allows product to be visible in product searches in Sales mode.
- Color - configures the color of the product, this choice will only affect the color of the product button in Sales mode.
- Vat Code 1 - overrides the Product group VAT settings (for more info on configuring VAT on a Product group level, check out *link*)
- Vat Code 2 - overrides the Product group VAT settings (for more info on configuring VAT on a Product group level, check out *link*)
- Course - configures default product Course
- Force Take Away - enabling this setting sets the product in TakeAway mode by default when selected in Sales mode
- ImageVisibility - If product picture is added this setting dictates if the picture is shown in the (only) the "till", (only) "kiosk" (="LiteApi") or both.
- Take away - configures the product to only be available in TakeAway mode (ONLY Take Away) or to not be available in TakeAway mode (No Take Away)
- Allow zero price - allows the product to be used even if there is no price configured (used when creating info and message products)
- Cost price - Is the cost of the product, this is the value that is subtracted in the OLAP report to show margin in the reports.
- Covers - Can be used to generate covers, for example a 4 person sharing plate generates 4 covers (guests). Can be used in OLAP to calculate avarage ticket amount.
- PAXCode - ??
- KDS
- KDSColor - Sets the color of the product line in the KDS.
- KDSSummary - Dictates if the product is shown in the KDS summary bar.
- Unit
- Measurement unit - configures the default measurement unit, default is Piece, alternative choices are G - gram, Hg - ?, Kg - kilogram, Ml - milliliter, Cl - centiliter, Dl - deciliter, L - liter, most often used when creating new drink products.
- Print
- PrintX - sets the number of receipts printed (if the receipt contains this product).
- PrintMemo - enables or disables Memos to be printed on receipts.
- PrintAddons - enables or disables Addons to be printed on receipts.
- NoPrint - prevents the product from being printed receipts (not allowed in SE, NO)
- Preparation routing
- PrepOrder - Sets the order the product is printed from the top in relation to same setting in other products on same prepticket that has the same prepgroup selected.
- PrepName - The Name of the product printed on the prepticket.
- Prep info - Additional information added under the product in the prepticket.
- Prep Total - Adds an extra summary on the bottom of the prepticket.
- Prep group - configures the prep routing of the product (which prep printer/display receives the product order)
- PrepPrintAddons - Sets if addons added to the product shall be printed or not.
- Hideable as addon - This product, when ordered as addon, can be hidden from preptickets (according to prepticket settings)
